👀 Inconspicuous Traveler’s Honest Review
Our daughters (both under 12) had this attraction bookmarked thanks to YouTube before we even booked flights. And honestly? It didn’t disappoint. If you have kids who love ice cream—or selfies—this is a win.
The tour is self-paced outside of timed entry, which meant we could explore at our speed. Each room had a themed design and dessert samples to try (yes, you can get seconds). The girls were in heaven.
We booked this for the first afternoon of our trip to get it out of the way—and I’m glad we did. It allowed the girls to focus during subsequent activities without wondering when “the ice cream thing” was coming.
That said, it’s a “one and done” kind of place for us. Memorable and worth it—but not one we’d revisit soon.
P.S. My 6-year-old said the Museum of Ice Cream was her favorite part of New York. That’s a glowing review.
🍨 Inconspicuous Traveler’s Tips
- Don’t go after a full meal. Aim for a mid or late afternoon visit—or go all in and have ice cream for dinner.
- Go at your own pace. Some families spend an hour, others stay two. There’s no rush.
- Make sure your phone is fully charged for photos or have an external charger handy.
- Bring water. Ice cream makes you thirsty, and bottled water in the gift shop isn’t cheap. BYO bottle.
